Late Saturday evening turned into a night of growing dread in the quiet streets of Airdrie, as 14-year-old Francis Goodwin vanished without a trace. What began as a routine outing quickly became a community‑wide appeal and a race against time — his family and police are now urgently asking the public to help bring him safely home.

Francis was last seen around 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, on South Bridge Street in the Plains area of Airdrie. He didn’t return home or reach out to family, and the alarm was raised shortly thereafter.

According to descriptions from Police Scotland, Francis is a white male, about 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a slim build, blond hair, and blue eyes. At the time he disappeared, he was wearing all black — a black Monterex cap, a black zipped‑up jacket (reported as a black Berghaus jumper), black tracksuit bottoms, black gloves and black Nike trainers.

Since then, officers and family members have pulled out all the stops: canvassing the area, reviewing CCTV footage, speaking with friends and locals, and retracing any route Francis may have taken on that cold Saturday evening. But so far — nothing. No confirmed sightings. No phone calls. No sign of him.

Authorities emphasise that even the smallest detail — a teenager matching Francis’s description walking alone, entering an unfamiliar shop, or boarding a bus — could be vital. They’re urging residents around Airdrie, especially near Plains and South Bridge Street, to check security cameras, recall any unusual activity, and reach out if they see anything.

In a public message, Police Scotland urged anyone with information — however trivial it may seem — to call 101 quoting reference number 2977 of 7 December 2025. Theirs is a simple but powerful plea: help us find Francis.

For his family and neighbours, the wait is excruciating. The longer the silence drags on, the heavier the worry becomes. But amid the fear and confusion, there’s still hope — hope that someone, somewhere, saw something. And that this community, united, can bring a frightened boy back home.
