Flower Mound, Texas — The quiet Tuesday afternoon in a suburban neighborhood shattered into grief when 14‑year‑old Isha Mishra, a freshman at Marcus Ninth Grade Campus, was killed after being struck by a pickup truck near the intersection of Valley Ridge Boulevard and Browning Drive.

Just before 4 p.m., officers with Flower Mound Police Department responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. On arrival, they found the young girl critically injured. Emergency crews from the Flower Mound Fire Department rushed her to Medical City Denton, but she later died. The heart‑wrenching loss was confirmed by the county’s medical examiner.

Authorities say the driver — a 60‑year‑old from Lewisville — was stopped at a stop sign in the 6000 block of Browning Drive. As Isha began crossing the street, the pickup struck her. The driver was not hurt, remained at the scene, and fully cooperated with police investigators.

In a statement, the district said: “We are deeply saddened to confirm that a Marcus 9th Grade Campus student was killed today in an auto‑pedestrian accident off campus. Our thoughts are with the family during this very difficult time.” The district added that crisis counselors are available for students and staff processing this unexpected tragedy.

The news struck the close‑knit community hard. Neighbors, parents and classmates expressed shock and sorrow — many describe Isha as a bright, promising young girl whose sudden death feels unbearable. The tragedy has reopened safety concerns for students walking or biking through local intersections, particularly during the hectic afternoon commute.

Meanwhile, investigators with the Flower Mound Police Department continue piecing together what led to the crash. Road closures around the intersection lingered into the evening as officers documented the scene and gathered witness accounts.

As the community reels, friends and neighbors are rallying around Isha’s family offering condolences, support, and prayers. For many, Isha’s death is not just a news item — it’s a heartbreak that turned an ordinary afternoon into a lifetime of grief.
