    17 Charged Following Protest at Meridian Business Park

    A police response to a protest at the Meridian Business Park on Tuesday, October 21, has resulted in 17 individuals being charged. The protest led to several arrests, with those involved due to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, November 19.

    What Happened

    At approximately 6:30 AM on Tuesday, October 21, officers responded to a report of a protest at the Meridian Business Park. Following their attendance, 17 people were arrested and charged, with most facing charges of aggravated trespass.

    The 17 individuals, from various locations including London, Leicester, Birmingham, Nottingham, and Sheffield, are now scheduled to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on November 19.

    Additionally, a 22-year-old woman was released on police bail following her arrest during the protest.

    11. Catriona McGarry, 27, of Erkine Street, Leicester
    12. Merritt Parkes, 28, of Chestnut Road, Birmingham
    13. Andrea Heath, 66, of Braunstone Avenue, Leicester
    14. Heather Taylor, 23, of Woodbank Crescent, Sheffield
