The town of Amelia, Ohio, is grieving the sudden and tragic loss of 20-year-old Brady Mentz, who passed away in a motorcycle accident on Monday, November 25, 2025. The fatal crash, which occurred on State Route 125 in Clermont County, has left family, friends, and the larger Cincinnati-area community in deep sorrow as they come to terms with the untimely death of a young man with a bright future ahead of him.

What Happened: A Fatal Collision on State Route 125

The accident occurred around 12:11 p.m. at the junction of State Route 125 and Crane Schoolhouse Road. According to a preliminary report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), the crash involved two vehicles: a 2025 Honda CBR500R motorcycle, ridden by Brady Mentz, and a 2019 Ford Transit van operated by 70-year-old Sandra Burr.

Investigators indicated that the Ford Transit was traveling east on State Route 125 when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto Macedonia Road. At the same time, Brady was riding west on his motorcycle. As the van turned, the motorcycle collided with it, causing both vehicles to veer off the road. The collision was severe, and despite the quick response of emergency services, Brady was declared dead at the scene.

Community in Shock: A Life Lost Too Soon

Brady Mentz was remembered as an intelligent, dedicated, and hardworking young man. His tragic death has left a significant void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the entire Amelia community, where he was well-loved. Known for his positive attitude and determination, Brady had a promising future ahead, making his untimely passing even more difficult to comprehend.

The loss of Brady is a blow to all who knew him, and the community has come together to offer support and extend condolences to his family during this heartbreaking time.

The Other Driver: Minor Injuries Reported

Sandra Burr, the driver of the van, sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and care. Initial reports suggest that her injuries are not life-threatening, but further details regarding her condition have not been disclosed. The OSHP is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, including factors such as road conditions, visibility, and speed, to determine the cause of the accident.

    Investigation and Next Steps

The OSHP Batavia Post is leading the investigation into the incident. As part of their standard protocol for fatal accidents, authorities are examining all relevant factors, including potential driver errors and other elements that may have contributed to the crash. While no charges have been filed as of yet, the investigation is ongoing, and the OSHP continues to gather witness accounts and evidence to provide a thorough understanding of the events leading to this tragedy.

Brady Mentz’s family is expected to release further details, including obituary notices and information about memorial services, in the coming days.

    A Community United in Grief

Brady’s passing is a stark reminder of how quickly life can change. His absence has left a significant emptiness in the lives of those who loved him, and the community of Amelia has united in mourning, offering condolences and support to his family. As the investigation continues, Brady’s family, friends, and the larger community hold on to the memories of a young man whose life was tragically cut short.
