On Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025, at approximately 7:13 p.m., the 7‑year‑old girl was riding in the backseat of a vehicle traveling on the 3000 block of North Marshall Street when gunfire erupted.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department (PPD), the vehicle — driven by her mother — came under fire, and one bullet struck the child in her left arm. The girl was initially taken to a nearby hospital in a private vehicle, then transferred by ambulance to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, where she is listed in stable condition.
Investigators recovered six spent 9 mm shell casings at the scene, consistent with multiple shots being fired into or toward the vehicle. At this stage, authorities have not publicly released a motive, nor have they confirmed whether the vehicle or the child was the intended target.
