LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A new international grocery store is opening up in east Louisville.
According to our partners at Louisville Business First, Saraga International Grocery plans to open up the grocery chain by the beginning of February.
Miranda Construction is expected to begin work at the end of September at 200 N. Hurstbourne Parkway inside The Forum Center.
Saraga International Grocery was founded in 1994 by two Korean brothers. They sell more than 10,000 different kinds of foods from around the globe, including African, Chinese, European, Mediterranean, Thai and more.
The grocery will carry the typical fresh produce, meats, seafood and also feature a food court.
Brad Nam, general manager of Saraga International, said the food court would include a Korean bakery and a restaurant serving Korean food.
“We carry food from all around the world, we don’t target food from only certain countries or regions,” Nam told Business First. “I think the Louisville store will be a very good addition to the city.”
The store will employ around 70 people.
