School District U-46 is officially taking suggestions for the name of the new middle school being built in Elgin. “(Tuesday) we will be officially launching the nomination process,” Chief of Staff Brian Lindholm said Monday during the school board meeting. U-46 broke ground on the 193,000-square foot, $110 million middle school at 2604 Rohrssen Road in April. A teenage girl was in custody Friday night after they say she stabbed and critically injured a young woman near the 69th Street Red Line CTA station, according to Chicago police. The victim, 20, was involved in a physical altercation with a 17-year-old girl on the sidewalk in the first block of West 69th Street around 6 p.m, when the teen pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the woman twice in her torso, police said.
