WASHINGTON – A Pentagon report suggests that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth may have used poor judgment by sharing details about a military operation in Yemen on his personal phone. The report says that while Hegseth had the power to make the information public, sharing sensitive details about the strike on Houthi rebels using the Signal app broke Pentagon rules. These rules are in place to protect troops and missions. The report said the information Hegseth shared, like the timing of U.S. airstrikes, could have helped the enemy and put American pilots in danger. Hegseth’s use of the Signal app became…
New York City’s Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani recently stated he plans to stop the city’s practice of clearing homeless encampments when he takes office in January. This marks a clear departure from current Mayor Eric Adams’ approach to the issue. Mamdani believes the focus should be on providing long-term housing solutions for homeless individuals, arguing that simply removing encampments doesn’t solve the underlying problem. He suggests that homelessness is a political choice, not an unavoidable reality. A recent audit of the city’s homeless services found that the Adams administration’s sweeps of encampments were largely unsuccessful in connecting people with needed services.…
