Philadelphia leaders will officially launch a speed camera program along Broad Street to make the critical roadway, which is considered one of the city’s busiest and most dangerous roads, safer for drivers and pedestrians. Thirty-one cameras, which are located at 15 intersections from the edge of Cheltenham Township to South Philadelphia, will go live Monday. After a court order was issued to reverse SEPTA’s service cuts and capital project funding was approved to cover daily expenses, SEPTA will be nearly back to normal as of this weekend. On Sunday, about half of the SEPTA bus, trolley and train routes that were shortened or eliminated will be fully restored, but a 21.5% fare hike also takes effect. A teenage boy was killed and another was injured after the two were riding an electric bike and crashed into the side of a school bus in Dover, Delaware, Friday afternoon, state police said. Delaware State Police believe a 16-year-old boy was driving the electric bike, or e-bike, with a 14-year-old boy as a passenger.
