ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – A crash on Interstate 55 in Will County early Sunday morning left one person dead, another injured, and all southbound lanes closed. What we know: The crash happened just before 3 a.m. on I-55 near Weber Road in Romeoville, according to Illinois State Police. Troopers found the two-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes involving a passenger car and a commercial vehicle. Two people were taken to an area hospital with injuries. CHICAGO – A gunman fired into a car and shot a teenager in the city’s downtown area early Sunday morning. The shooting happened in the 700 block of S. Wells Street in the South Loop, according to the Chicago Police Department. What we know: A little before 3:30 a.m., the 17-year-old male victim was in a car that was stopped at a traffic light. Chicago police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two men wanted in connection with a CTA robbery on the West Side last month. What we know: The incident happened about 7 a.m. on Aug. 24 at the CTA Green Line station in the 4000 block of West Lake Street in West Garfield Park, police said. WOODSTOCK, Ill. – A car crashed into a duplex in Woodstock on Saturday afternoon, damaging the structure and causing a gas leak, officials said. What we know: The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District said crews responded about 2:47 p.m. to the 2300 block of Aspen Drive, where they found a vehicle had struck the garage of a single-story duplex, causing moderate to heavy damage. A natural gas meter was also hit, leading to an active leak. The driver, an adult woman, was out of the vehicle before firefighters arrived. State police rescue California woman lost in woods filming reality TV segment Troopers from the Michigan State Police Gaylord post assisted the Otsego County Sheriff’s Department in searching for a missing California woman who was lost in Pigeon River State Forest overnight Sept. 5. The woman, 36, was a contestant in a YouTube survival challenge and had become lost the previous evening but was not reported until 5 a.m. Sept. 6. CHICAGO – A 42-year-old man was found fatally shot inside a South Side home Saturday morning, Chicago police said. What we know: Officers responded about 10:49 a.m. to the 300 block of West 93rd Street in the Princeton Park neighborhood, where the man was discovered with a gunshot wound to the body, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not yet identified him. No arrests have been made, and Area Two detectives are investigating.

CHICAGO – A 17-year-old boy has been charged in connection with an armed carjacking that took place earlier this year on the South Side, Chicago police said. What we know: The teen was arrested Friday in the 7100 block of South Morgan Street, according to police. He was identified as one of the suspects who, on Jan. 19, used a gun to steal a vehicle and personal belongings from a 33-year-old man in the 5000 block of South Washington Park Court, police said.
