The city of Evanston deactivated its 19 license plate reading cameras Tuesday, Aug. 26, after a state official said on Aug. 25 that Flock Safety, which operates the cameras, had shared information about vehicles in Evanston with federal immigration agencies. Interim Chicago Housing Authority CEO Angela Hurlock stepped down from her role Tuesday as the agency also delayed a vote on the appointment of former Ald.
