Beaver Dam, Wis. — A three-year-old boy, identified only as “B,” who went missing near Beaver Dam High School has been found safe, according to the city’s police department. The department originally put out a plea for help from the community, and today confirmed that the child has been located.

Authorities say B, who is non-verbal and autistic, was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants, and Crocs. The Beaver Dam Police Department asked residents in the area to check their security camera footage around 2:00 p.m. for any clues, urging anyone with relevant video to contact Dodge County Dispatch at 920-887-4612.

The community’s response was swift. Residents began reviewing their doorbell and home security systems, focusing on that early afternoon timeframe. Officers stressed the importance of even small details — movements, possible paths, or anything out of the ordinary — because every piece of footage could help.

After an intensive search, law enforcement confirmed that B was located later in the day and reunited with his family. Rights now being protected, authorities haven’t shared exactly where or how he was found, but emphasized there is no longer an active risk.

For his part, B did not appear to be in distress at the time he was found. While officials haven’t disclosed details of the reunion, the tone in their statements suggests relief and gratitude — both to the community and first responders.

Missing child cases are never easy, especially when the child has special needs like non-verbal autism. In similar past instances, Beaver Dam Police have relied on programs such as Project Lifesaver — which uses wearable transmitters for individuals prone to wandering — to track missing or disoriented people. Whether A similar tool was in use for B is not mentioned in the updates, but it shows the department’s commitment to using every available resource.

As of now, police have closed their public appeal, but they continue to remind residents: if you saw anything or captured unusual footage around 2 p.m. near the high school area, call the Dodge County Dispatch line.
