A body has been discovered during the search for a missing man from Kilwinning. Police were alerted to the discovery at around 3:10 am on Thursday, when the body was found in a wooded area off the B785 at Eglinton Park.
What Happened
The body was found as part of the ongoing search for 47-year-old David Houston, who was last seen on Bradshaw Street in Saltcoats on Tuesday afternoon. While formal identification has yet to take place, David Houston’s family has been informed of the discovery.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course. The police continue to express their condolences to the family and friends of David Houston during this difficult time.
