Faith E. Jones, a 26‑year-old from Toutle, Washington, died early Thursday morning after her vehicle left Spirit Lake Memorial Highway (SR 504) and hit a power pole near George Taylor Road.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the single-vehicle accident occurred at about 6:47 a.m., when Faith was driving a 1997 GMC Suburban westbound near milepost 8. First responders found the SUV overturned, heavily damaged against the pole; tragically, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Though the crash was severe, details about exactly what caused her vehicle to veer off the road remain under investigation. Law enforcement says they are still looking into possible factors.

Faith grew up in the small community of Toutle, nestled along the Spirit Lake Highway corridor. That stretch of road winds through scenic country toward Mount St. Helens — but on Thursday, it became the site of heartbreak for her family, friends, and neighbors.

Friends describe Faith as a warm, kind-hearted person whose spirit lit up every room. She had a natural way of making people feel valued, whether through laughter or compassion — and her loss is being deeply felt across her tight-knit community.

As news of her passing spread, neighbors rallied together to support Faith’s family. In their grief, they’re reminding each other how fragile life can be, and how precious every moment with loved ones truly is.

Though Faith’s time was painfully short, her memory promises to endure. Her legacy — rooted in generosity, love, and gentle strength — will live on in those she touched. She will be missed more than words can say.
