The mother of missing 9-year-old Melodee Buzzard, Ashlee, is no longer facing a felony charge. This charge was not related to her daughter’s disappearance.

Melodee was reported missing in October. In early November, Ashlee was arrested on a charge of false imprisonment in a separate case.

Later in November, Ashlee went to court. The charge against her said that she tried to stop someone named Tyler S. Brewer from leaving her home. Brewer said she got upset when he mentioned a place she and Melodee visited on a road trip.

The felony charge was dropped after a recording was played in court. The recording seemed to show that Brewer’s claims were not true. In the audio, Ashlee opened the door and let Brewer leave. The recording also didn’t mention any specific location.

Brewer said he was helping Ashlee with legal documents and felt threatened by her.

Now that the charge has been dropped, Ashlee no longer has to wear a GPS tracking device.

The search for Melodee is still happening.

After Melodee went missing, police searched Ashlee’s home. They didn’t find Melodee. Police said Ashlee couldn’t give a good explanation of where her daughter was.

Police haven’t said Ashlee is a suspect, but they say she hasn’t been helping with the investigation. A neighbor also filmed Ashlee taking down missing person posters.

Detectives think Melodee disappeared during a three-day period in early October. Ashlee and Melodee were on a road trip from California to Nebraska during that time.

On October 7, a security camera showed Melodee wearing what looked like a wig. Ashlee and Melodee were traveling in a white car. Police say Ashlee came back to California without Melodee.

Melodee is about 4 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 60 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. If you have any information, please call the police.
