Barbara Stock, known for her role as Liz Adams on the popular TV show “Dallas,” recently shared her experience of being written off the show unexpectedly.

Stock, who played a government agent who got close to Bobby Ewing (Patrick Duffy) and had a romance with Cliff Barnes (Ken Kercheval), said she found out about her departure in a surprising way. Someone mentioned it to her in the makeup room, catching her off guard.

Looking back, she noticed a common sign for actors: a scene where her character packed a suitcase. This hinted that her time on “Dallas” was coming to an end.

Despite the sudden end, Stock said she holds no hard feelings. She had hoped to be part of the show’s final episodes, but she understands that storylines had to be wrapped up for the original characters. “Dallas,” which told the story of the powerful Ewing family, ran until 1991 and even led to the spin-off “Knots Landing.”

Stock also shared a fond memory of Larry Hagman, who played the infamous J.R. Ewing. She said Hagman was welcoming and kind. Interestingly, Hagman’s wife thought J.R. should have ended up with Stock’s character.

After “Dallas,” Stock continued acting, even playing Florence Henderson’s daughter on “Murder, She Wrote.” But eventually, she decided to leave acting to focus on her family and pursue her passion for interior design.

She has no regrets and values the time she spent with her son. Stock advises aspiring actors to study their craft and work hard to achieve their goals with strong moral principles.
