A sad event happened in New Zealand where a father and his three young children passed away.

On Saturday, police were called to a house fire in Sanson, a town north of Wellington, the capital city. They found a man and three children, ages 1, 5, and 7, had died.

While police are still looking into what happened, it seems like it might have been a murder-suicide. However, they haven’t said for sure if it was a homicide.

The police said the man didn’t have any burns but died at the scene. The house was badly damaged by the fire, and they are not looking for anyone else involved.

The bodies of the man and two of the children were found on Sunday. The family was there to bless them in a traditional ceremony. The third child’s body was also found on Sunday.

Police are asking for time to figure out what happened and why. They know the community has many questions, but they need to investigate carefully.

A neighbor said that everyone is thinking of the families involved.

People have started a fundraising page to help the children’s mother, Chelsey. The page has raised a lot of money to support her.

Police are still working to get more information about this tragic event.

If you’re feeling sad or need someone to talk to, you can call or text 988 in the US and Canada. In the UK, you can call 111. These services are available all the time.
