Three men who broke out of a jail in Georgia are now in trouble for allegedly kidnapping a rideshare driver. The men, Stevenson Charles, Yusuf Minor, and Naod Yohannes, escaped from the DeKalb County Jail.

After escaping, they are accused of using a rideshare service. When the driver arrived, instead of the woman who ordered the ride, three men got in. The driver said she felt uneasy but drove them anyway.

Once they reached their destination, one of the men allegedly put a rope around the driver’s neck. The driver’s hands were tied, and she was forced into the back seat. She was told to stay quiet and not struggle or she would be killed, according to court documents.

The driver says she was held against her will for hours and feared for her life. The men allegedly got into her bank accounts and used her credit cards. They made her drive them to Florida, where they used her card to rent a place to stay.

The driver tried to get away at one point, but one of the men allegedly attacked her and threatened to hurt her even worse.

Police were able to find the car in Florida. When they tried to stop it, the driver, believed to be Charles, took off. He was caught after a chase. The other two men were also arrested.

Charles and Yohannes appeared in court on kidnapping charges. Minor was scheduled to appear later.

At the time of the escape, Charles was already facing charges for a murder and robbery from 2022. Minor was being held for armed robbery, and Yohannes was charged with assault and arson.
