SAN CARLOS, Ariz. — A 42-year-old man, identified as Sonny Garcia Sr., has died following a fatal stabbing in the Bylas District of San Carlos on March 12, 2026. Officers responded to a report at approximately 7:29 p.m., discovering Garcia suffering from a stab wound. Emergency personnel from San Carlos EMS and the San Carlos Fire Department quickly arrived on the scene, providing lifesaving efforts before transporting him to the San Carlos Apache Healthcare Corporation, where he was later pronounced dead.
Shortly after the incident, a suspect, identified as Lang, was located at a nearby residence and arrested without incident. Detectives from the San Carlos Apache Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, with assistance from the FBI and Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), are currently leading the investigation.
Authorities have stated that, at this time, they believe the incident was isolated, with no ongoing threat to the community. The investigation remains active as authorities work to uncover further details surrounding the circumstances of Garcia’s death.
