    With deep sorrow and hearts full of love, we announce the passing of Eli S. Esh, age 84, who peacefully passed away on July 30th, 2025, at 5:25 p.m. Surrounded by his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren, Eli’s departure has left a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him.

    What Happened

    Eli was born on January 29th, 1941, to the late Amos and Leah Esh. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Eli dedicated his life to his faith in God and his family. His life’s work included farming and later working at a woodworking shop, where he was known for his hard work and commitment.

    Eli was a cherished member of the Old Order Amish Church and led a life rich in faith and love. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as hunting, gardening, and storytelling. His greatest joy was found in the company of his loved ones, and he was happiest when surrounded by family.

    Who Was Eli S. Esh?

    Eli’s love for his family and his deep connection to his faith defined him. He was a man of integrity, humility, and devotion. His storytelling brought laughter and warmth to family gatherings, and his gentle presence provided comfort and guidance to those around him. Eli’s love for his wife, Rachel, whom he was married to for 62 years, and their children was the foundation of his life.

    Family and Legacy

    Eli is survived by his beloved wife, Rachel, and their children: Melvin F., husband of (Barbie Zook) of Ronks; Amos F., husband of (Heather) of Lancaster; Miriam, wife of (Amos Lantz) of Gap; and Susanna, wife of (Lynn Martin) of East Earl. Eli is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, who will carry his memory forward in their hearts.

    Eli was preceded in death by his two brothers, Daniel Esh and Melvin Esh, who now welcome him into eternity.

    Service Information

    The viewing will be held at 637-A Georgetown Road, Ronks, Pennsylvania. The viewing times are Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the same location on Friday at 10:00 a.m. (Daylight Savings Time).

    Final Tribute

    As a family, we rejoice in the homegoing of our dear husband, father, and grandfather. Although we will deeply miss his presence, we find comfort in knowing he is now at peace with the Lord. His legacy of faith, love, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

    Rest in peace, Eli S. Esh. You were a shining example of faith, family, and love, and your memory will continue to guide us.
