Jasmaine Michelle Smith, a 22-year-old woman from Farrell, Pennsylvania, has been missing since June 5, 2015. Last seen at her sister’s high school graduation party, Jasmaine’s disappearance remains unsolved. Her family continues to search for answers, fearing a possible connection to a known sex trafficker and murderer, James Brooks.

    What Happened

Jasmaine Smith was last seen on June 5, 2015, at her sister’s graduation party at their family home in Farrell, Pennsylvania. After that, she vanished without a trace. Her family initially waited for her to return, but when weeks passed without any word, her mother reported her missing on June 29, 2015.

At the time of her disappearance, Jasmaine lived in Warren, Ohio. The disappearance came just a month before another local woman, Alesha Bell, went missing in Warren, Ohio, leading to an unsettling connection between the two cases.

A Disturbing Link to James Brooks

In July 2015, Alesha Bell’s remains were found in a fire pit at the home of James Brooks, a suspected drug dealer and sex trafficker. Brooks had known Alesha’s family and was the last person seen with her before she disappeared. Police believe Brooks kidnapped Alesha and forced her into sex trafficking.

Brooks was arrested and charged with multiple crimes, including involuntary manslaughter, kidnapping, and gross abuse of a corpse. In February 2021, he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to eight years in prison, in addition to his previous 22-year sentence for federal weapons and drug convictions.

What’s more concerning is that Jasmaine Smith’s family believes James Brooks might have been involved in her disappearance as well. Jasmaine’s mother stated that she and some of Jasmaine’s friends knew Brooks, raising fears that he might have kidnapped Jasmaine and forced her into sex trafficking, just as he allegedly did with Alesha Bell.

    Description of Jasmaine Smith

At the time of her disappearance, Jasmaine was 5’7” to 5’8” tall, weighing approximately 145 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes, with several distinctive tattoos, including:

    • A heart and arrow on her cheek by the corner of her eye.
    • The word “Loyalty” at the base of her throat.
    • Stars on her collarbone.
    • The name “Bubby” inside of a heart on her upper arm, along with stars and swirls on her hip.

Jasmaine also has pierced ears and a scar on her upper arm.
