Michael McGlone was the kind of person people felt comfortable around almost immediately. A University of Pittsburgh student originally from Chester, Pennsylvania, Michael died on December 10, 2025, a loss that has rippled quietly but deeply through his family, campus community, and the many circles he moved through with ease.

Born to Jennifer Meredith (née Lange) and Joseph M. McGlone III, Michael grew up rooted in family and connection. Those who knew him best describe someone who showed up—consistently, without fanfare. He had a warmth that didn’t need to be announced and a friendliness that made others feel seen, whether they had known him for years or only for a moment.

At Pitt, Michael was known not just as a student, but as a presence. He cared about his studies, but just as much about the people around him. Friends remember his lighthearted humor, his loyalty, and the way he could keep things grounded even on difficult days. He had an approachable nature that made conversations feel easy and genuine, the kind that linger long after they end.

His death has prompted an outpouring of grief and remembrance from friends and loved ones who are struggling to make sense of the loss. In the midst of that grief, stories about Michael keep surfacing—small moments, shared laughs, simple acts of kindness—that together paint a picture of a life that mattered deeply to many.

The McGlone family has invited those who loved Michael to gather and honor him on Friday, December 19, 2025, with a viewing from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at The Donohue Funeral Home in West Chester. A Funeral Mass will follow at 12:30 p.m. at SS Simon & Jude Church, with a livestream available for those unable to attend in person. Interment will be private.

In a gesture that feels unmistakably Michael, his family has asked attendees to wear jeans and flannels. It’s a simple request, but one that captures the way he moved through life—casual, genuine, and comfortable being himself. It’s less about formality and more about feeling close, the way he made others feel.

As friends and family come together to say goodbye, the focus remains on who Michael was rather than how he died: a devoted son, a loyal friend, and a young man whose presence left a lasting imprint. In remembering him, those who loved Michael are holding onto the warmth he shared so freely and the connections he built along the way.
