Newsom Pushes Noem on LA Fire Funds

The left’s hypocrisy knows no bounds, especially when it comes to disaster relief. Gavin Newsom is at it again, playing the victim card while his state crumbles under his leadership.

    • Newsom accuses Kristi Noem of prioritizing ads over fire relief.
    • He demands the release of over $500 million in FEMA funding.
    • Noem’s new role as “Special Envoy” raises questions about DHS direction.

Newsom’s Blame Game: A Familiar Tune

The Golden State’s governor, never one to shy away from blaming others for his failures, is now targeting outgoing Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. He’s accusing her of holding up $500 million in FEMA funding for Los Angeles wildfire recovery.

Newsom, in a fit of pique, even labeled Noem “Kosplay Barbie” for her ad campaign. Is this really the behavior we expect from a state leader?

The Stalled Funds: Bureaucratic Red Tape or Political Games?

According to Newsom’s office, Noem required personal sign-off on all DHS contracts over $100,000, leading to a massive backlog. While streamlining processes is important, this seems more like a power grab, especially as those affected are just waiting to rebuild schools and repair roads.

    Politics

Let’s be real: these funds are vital for rebuilding communities ravaged by the Los Angeles wildfires of early 2025, fires that destroyed thousands of homes. So, did these fires ravage areas that did not vote blue?

What Does This Mean for the Future?

Newsom’s attack is nothing more than a transparent attempt to deflect from his own disastrous policies. California’s mismanagement of resources and its open embrace of radical leftism has created a perfect storm of problems, from wildfires to homelessness. Now, with the President shifting Noem to an Envoy role, it seems she’ll be working with other leaders to improve our safety, but the details are still unclear.

This blame game is a dangerous distraction from the real issues facing California and the nation. We need leaders who prioritize solutions over scoring  political points, leaders who understand the importance of fiscal responsibility and limited government. We must ask ourselves: are we willing to allow this theater to continue, or will we demand accountability from our elected officials?
