Paulina Porizkova, a 60-year-old model, recently shared a video online promoting body positivity and confidence as women age.
In the video, she starts in a bathrobe and then shows herself in lingerie – a lavender bra and beige underwear. She talks about her “getting ready” routine. Porizkova points out her “hip scars” and talks about wearing comfortable clothes like sweatpants. She also mentions a squirrel-print sweater her fiancé gave her.
Porizkova explains that she doesn’t wear much makeup, just a little pinch on her cheeks for color. She says she wants to show people what she really does to start her day, hoping others will see her “imperfections” and feel better about themselves. She encourages women to “give yourself a little break and wrap your arms around your imperfect self and give it some love.”
She has spoken out against altering images online, saying she feels responsible to show herself as she is. She believes as you get older, you care less about what others think and focus on yourself. She expresses gratitude for the wisdom that comes with age.
Porizkova says she is the “best that I’ve ever been” and doesn’t need to improve. She hopes people can see past wrinkles and recognize the power of a fully formed woman.
