Monday in the Philadelphia region will be a pleasant, crisp day with sunshine and highs in the mid-70s, though it will be cooler at the beaches and up in the Poconos.

We started the week on a cool, crisp note with lows in the upper 40s in our northwest suburbs. We’ve got a stretch of cool mornings and mild afternoons to enjoy this week.

Monday, with high pressure overhead, expect a sunny and beautiful day with highs around 5-10 degrees below average, in the mid 70s.

High pressure sticks around through Tuesday, keeping us dry and seasonable. Clouds may start to increase later in the day along the shoreline as a coastal system begins lifting north.

High rip current risk at the shore

While we have great weather across the region, the National Weather Service has elevated the risk for deadly rip currents down the shore to high due to increasing winds (5-15 mph).

A high risk will remain in effect for Tuesday as well and likely into Wednesday with a low-pressure system passing offshore through midweek.

Looking toward the second half of the work week

By Wednesday, the coastal low will spread clouds into the Philadelphia area with a chance of a few showers at the shore and possibly interior South Jersey. Skies stay mostly cloudy with highs in the low 70s, though more sun may break through the farther north you head.

Thursday brings a quick warmup back to normal, and we’ll be near 80 with sunshine into the weekend.

Monday: Sunny, nice. High 76, Low 55.

Tuesday: Sunny. High 77, Low 55.

Wednesday: Few more clouds. High 73, Low 61.

Thursday: Warmer, sunny. High 82, Low 59.

Friday: Sunny. High 81, Low 60.

Saturday: Sunny. High 79, Low 58.

Sunday: Mostly sunny. High 81, Low 57.
