Traverse City and Wexford County are reeling after the heart‑breaking confirmation that 22-year-old Rebecca Kay Park, who was around 39 weeks pregnant, has been found dead. Her father made the devastating discovery on November 25 while searching for his daughter, bringing an end to a desperate three‑week effort to find her.

Rebecca, also known to friends as “Becca,” was last seen the night of November 4, around 11:30 p.m., getting into a dark-colored vehicle outside a relative’s home on South 21½ Road. Her mother, Courtney Bartholomew, was the final person to see her alive. In the days after she disappeared, law enforcement joined by community volunteers scoured wooded areas and back roads, but no concrete leads turned up. A $12,000 reward remained in place for information that could lead to her—and her baby—being found safe.

In their search, authorities from the Wexford County Sheriff’s Office and the Michigan State Police invested significant resources. Dozens of volunteers organized their own searches, some arriving with drones, horses, and search dogs. Even so, according to law enforcement, no new evidence was uncovered that would point to what happened—or when she died.

Rumors swirled online throughout the ordeal. Some claimed investigators found bloody clothing, or even that foul play was certain. But deputies firmly denied those reports, saying there is no known direct evidence of an assault and that they are not in possession of any bloody garments. As for her pregnancy, officials described the status as unknown, and they have not confirmed whether she gave birth or the fate of her unborn child.

No arrests have been made. The Wexford County Sheriff’s Office said it will issue more information when they can—but for now, they are urging anyone with reliable, actionable tips to come forward.

Rebecca’s father, who discovered her body, has spoken publicly, but authorities have not shared details about the condition of her remains. Her family and friends are left with the unimaginable: grief, confusion, and more questions than answers.

As the community processes this tragic news, people remain united in mourning Rebecca—her lost future, and the child she carried. Those who knew her say she was looking forward to becoming a mother, planning her life, surrounded by loved ones who rooted for her. Now, they’re waiting quietly for justice, clarity, and a sense of peace.

Investigators continue to hold the case open, and the public remains hopeful that someone will come forward with the key piece that finally uncovers what happened to Rebecca—and her baby—in her final days.
