It is with profound sadness that the passing of Puseva Genadiya, 76, is announced. Puseva, who had been reported missing from her home in the Colony Club development in Sayreville, New Jersey, was found deceased on August 15, 2025, in a wooded area off Journey Mill Road. Her body was located by officers using ATV vehicles following an intensive multi-day search.

    The Search

Puseva was last seen on the morning of August 13th, leaving her residence on foot around 11 a.m. She was wearing a light-colored shirt—either white or yellow—and blue pants. Her family immediately reported her missing, especially concerned because she spoke only Russian and faced significant communication challenges.

In response, law enforcement, search teams, and local volunteers mobilized quickly. Ground units, drones, and community alerts were deployed, and neighbors worked tirelessly to spread awareness and assist in the search. Despite these efforts and the remarkable outpouring of community support, the search ended in tragedy.

    Remembering Puseva

Puseva was more than a missing person—she was a beloved family member and neighbor. Her life and story touched many during the days of searching, uniting the community in compassion and hope. While her passing leaves behind deep sorrow, it also serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by elderly individuals, particularly those navigating language barriers and mobility concerns.

    Gratitude and Reflection

The Sayreville Police Department and Puseva’s family have expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported the search—whether by volunteering, sharing information, or offering prayers. While the outcome was not what anyone had hoped for, the community’s solidarity was a source of strength for her loved ones.

At this time, authorities have not released further details regarding her death, but no foul play is suspected.

Puseva will be remembered with love and missed deeply by all who knew her.
