Marietta, Georgia — The family and community of 36-year-old Terrell Lowdermilk of Chattanooga, Tennessee, are mourning his tragic passing after a fatal hit-and-run crash on Interstate 75 in the early morning hours of Wednesday, August 13, 2025.

A professional truck driver, Terrell was involved in a collision with another semi-truck around 2:30 a.m. while traveling northbound. Following safety protocol, both drivers pulled over—one to the interstate shoulder and the other to the South Marietta Parkway exit ramp—and exited their vehicles.

While standing in the left lane of the entrance ramp to I-75 northbound, Terrell was struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene. Despite immediate response from emergency personnel, he tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Investigation Developments

Early evidence suggested the suspect vehicle was a 2019–2022 black Chevrolet Silverado. Thanks to the Cobb County Police Department’s Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) and tips from the public, investigators have since located and impounded a 2020 Silverado believed to have been involved. The investigation remains active as authorities work to confirm the driver’s identity. Charges are expected once the individual responsible is identified.

    A Life Remembered

Terrell’s death has left a deep void among his family, friends, and the trucking community who knew him as a hardworking and dedicated man. His life was senselessly cut short while he was simply doing his job—the very work that keeps goods and supplies moving across the nation.

    Call for Justice

The Marietta Police Department continues to ask anyone with information to come forward to ensure accountability and justice for Terrell and his loved ones.

His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his loss will not be forgotten.
