Olivencia III, has been charged with first-degree murder following a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred on Friday, September 5th, at the intersection of West State Street and Monroe Street. The incident left 45-year-old Mark Gesswein dead from the injuries he sustained after being forced off the road by Olivencia’s red minivan.

At approximately 9:38 a.m. on Friday, Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene where they found Gesswein, the driver of the motorcycle, deceased. The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office later confirmed his identity. According to the investigation, Olivencia had discovered earlier in the day that two of his motorcycles had been stolen. Driven by the need to recover his property, he began driving around, looking for the stolen bikes.
