Sand Springs, OK – November 15, 2025 – The Sand Springs Police Department is investigating a suspected murder-suicide after two individuals were discovered deceased in their home on Sunday morning. The bodies of 72-year-old Cynthia Toliver and 74-year-old Brad Toliver were found in a residence near East 10th Street and 10th Place following a welfare check request by a concerned family member.

    What Happened

The tragic discovery was made around 6:44 a.m. when a family member became alarmed after a disturbing phone conversation with Brad Toliver. Concerned for the well-being of the couple, the family member contacted authorities, requesting a welfare check. When police arrived at the residence, they found both Cynthia and Brad Toliver dead from gunshot wounds.

Two family pets were also found in the home, having suffered similar gunshot injuries. Authorities suspect that Brad Toliver shot his wife and their animals before taking his own life.

    The Investigation

The Sand Springs Police Department has launched an ongoing investigation into the deaths, but detectives have emphasized that there is no threat to the community, characterizing the incident as a “confined family tragedy.” The authorities spent several hours on Sunday at the scene, collecting evidence and informing other family members about the devastating event.

Though investigators are still piecing together the details, the nature of the deaths and the apparent sequence of events suggest a tragic end to a family dispute. No further information has been disclosed at this time.

    Community Impact

The discovery has sent shockwaves through the Sand Springs community, as family, friends, and neighbors mourn the tragic loss. While the details surrounding the deaths remain under investigation, local authorities have reassured the public that there is no further risk to the community.

    Closing

This story may be updated with more information as the investigation progresses.
