At around 7:05 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2025, emergency crews responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a train near 7425 North Coldwater Canyon Avenue at Raymer Street in the Sun Valley, Los Angeles area.

When first responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived, they found a woman — later identified as 49-year-old Stacy Frisher — who had sustained fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her identity was confirmed three days later by the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner. Officials say no passengers or crew aboard the involved Amtrak train were injured.

Authorities have not yet released details on how Stacy Frisher came to be on or near the tracks that evening. As of now, investigators have announced they are reviewing all possible circumstances — from available surveillance footage and witness statements to train-operation data — before drawing any conclusions.

The deadly collision has again drawn attention to the dangers posed by active rail lines running through residential neighborhoods like Sun Valley — areas where high-speed intercity and commuter trains travel regularly. Officials emphasize the urgent importance of staying clear of tracks and heeding posted warnings.

For now, multiple agencies — including the fire department, the medical examiner’s office, and rail authorities — are collaborating to piece together exactly what happened. While no foul play is suspected, the investigation remains open and further updates are expected once protocols are complete.

Stacy Frisher’s death stands as a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly life can be lost when pedestrians and trains cross paths. In a city where rail lines cut through homes and neighborhoods, Sunday’s tragedy has renewed calls for heightened awareness and caution — from residents, commuters, and everyone moving near the tracks.
