A man is in police custody after a terrible incident in San Bernardino, California. Chester Lamont Gordon, 27, was arrested on Friday after allegedly hitting a baby in a stroller and a young boy with his car.
The incident happened on Monday when Alina Burgos, a baby, and her 3-year-old brother, Alonso, were walking with their parents. It’s reported that Gordon’s car struck them, throwing Alonso to the ground and dragging the baby’s stroller for a considerable distance.
Police have taken Gordon’s car as evidence. He’s facing serious charges, including felony hit-and-run and reckless driving.
Both children were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. Alonso is said to be recovering from a broken leg. The baby, Alina, suffered a brain bleed and a ruptured spleen. Thankfully, both children are now out of intensive care.
The family is now dealing with the emotional and financial stress of this situation. An online fundraiser has been set up by the children’s aunt to help with medical bills and other expenses during their recovery.
