“Days of Our Lives” Actress Suzanne Rogers Battles Cancer, Finds Strength in Faith and Community

Suzanne Rogers, the beloved actress who has played Maggie Horton on “Days of Our Lives” for over five decades, recently shared that she has been diagnosed with Stage II colorectal cancer. At 82 years young, Rogers approached her health challenge with the same grace and resilience she’s shown throughout her career.

Rogers explained that she felt something wasn’t quite right and her doctor discovered the cancer during a colonoscopy. After further testing, she began an intense course of radiation and chemotherapy. Rogers completed her treatments in July and is now looking forward to returning to work.

The actress expressed her gratitude for the support she received from her “Days of Our Lives” family, especially her on-screen daughter, Linsey Godfrey, who accompanied her to treatments. She also noted the kindness of her fellow cast members, who reached out to offer encouragement.

Rogers emphasized the importance of faith and a positive attitude throughout her battle. She expressed that the prayers and good wishes she received from loved ones helped her stay strong and focused on healing.

“I know what I’ve gone through and I’ve come out on the other side, so that’s all I care about,” Rogers stated. She added that the experience has given her a new perspective on life, helping her to let go of worrying about trivial matters. Her focus is now on staying healthy and appreciating each day.
