A sense of grief has spread across Shreveport after a fatal shooting on Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway on the night of Wednesday, November 19. Two people were killed and a third was seriously wounded when gunfire erupted between two vehicles traveling northbound. According to Shreveport Police, one car opened fire on the other, forcing the second vehicle off the road into a grassy embankment.

Investigators say three people in the victim’s vehicle sustained gunshot wounds. First responders pronounced two of them dead at the scene, while the third was rushed to Ochsner LSU Health in critical condition. The names of the victims have not been publicly released, and authorities are still working to identify them.

In a rapid development, Shreveport Police arrested a 17-year-old, Travelia Loston, on Friday, November 21. She faces two counts of second-degree murder and one count of attempted second-degree murder. A second suspect, Joshua Thomas, was also taken into custody, though police have not yet disclosed his charges. SPD says more arrests are likely as the investigation continues.

Chief Smith of the Shreveport Police Department condemned the violence, calling it “a terrifying act” that will not be tolerated. He also praised the Violent Crimes Unit for acting swiftly to identify and apprehend the suspects.

This tragedy has struck particularly close because one of the people named in earlier coverage of local crime, Tatum Ashley, was previously arrested in January 2025, but there’s no reliable, public confirmation linking him to this specific shooting. Back in January, Ashley, along with two others, was found inside a stolen vehicle and charged with felony possession of stolen property. Local arrest records back that up.

The community is reeling, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward to help solve what’s become a deeply painful case. The investigation remains active, and law enforcement says they expect more arrests as they piece together exactly what happened.
