In the quiet hours of Friday morning, October 24, 2025, tragedy struck Fairview Township, York County, when a high-speed crash claimed the life of 23-year-old Dylan Ryan Millhouse of Etters. The incident occurred around 1:11 a.m. in the 300 block of Valley Road, near Diane Drive.

According to the Fairview Township Police Department, a white pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Valley Road when it veered off the road, striking three utility poles before rolling over multiple times. Millhouse, a passenger in the vehicle, was ejected during the rollover and was pronounced dead at the scene by the York County Coroner’s Office. It’s currently unclear whether he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Two other males in the truck were injured and taken to Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center for treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed. A fourth individual fled the scene on foot before police arrived. Authorities have not confirmed whether he was the driver or another occupant.

Speed appears to have been a significant factor in the crash, as indicated by the extensive damage to the vehicle and the surrounding area. The collision caused a power outage affecting approximately 20 customers in the area. First Energy Corporation reported that the estimated restoration time was extended to 4 p.m. Additionally, Valley Road between Beinhower Road and Tassel Lane was closed for several hours as crews investigated the scene.

The crash also disrupted local education. Due to the power outage, Old Trail Intermediate School in the West Shore School District announced a remote learning day for Friday. Classes were conducted virtually, following an inclement weather-related schedule.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. The Fairview Township Police Department can be reached at 717-901-5267.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of speeding and the importance of seatbelt use. The community mourns the loss of Dylan Millhouse and hopes for a swift recovery for the injured individuals.
