Search for Travis Decker Continues as Authorities Investigate Murders

Authorities are actively searching for Travis Decker, who is accused of killing his three young daughters. The girls were reported missing during a planned visit with their father, and their bodies were discovered at a campsite on June 2, after Decker failed to return them to their mother.

Recently, law enforcement clarified that bones found near Rock Island Campground in Washington are not human, easing concerns about Decker’s whereabouts. He has been missing since late May when he picked up his daughters—Paityn, 9; Evelyn, 8; and Olivia, 5—from their mother’s home.

In a statement, W. Mike Herrington, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Seattle division, confirmed that the remains discovered on August 25 and 26 were assessed by Central Washington University and determined not to be human.

Decker has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of kidnapping in connection with his daughters’ deaths. The investigation has been extensive, lasting around three months. Search teams have covered significant areas, with nearly 250 acres explored.

Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison noted that further resources will be deployed to assist in the ongoing search efforts. While details about the additional support remain undisclosed, it is anticipated that it will involve specialized teams.

Authorities have called Decker armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him is advised not to approach him and to contact law enforcement immediately. The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to his capture.

The community remains shaken as the case unfolds, and officials continue to seek answers.
