A bride-to-be in Thailand honored her fiancé after his death by wearing her wedding dress to his funeral, according to reports.
The victim was identified as 36-year-old Thotsaphon Panya. He died on the evening of Feb. 10, less than two weeks before he was set to be married, Thai media outlets Khaosod English, Thai Examiner, and Asia One reported. Her identity was not shared.
Instead of the couple tying the knot and starting their lives together, a funeral was held on Feb. 15 before his cremation.
Panya was dressed in the suit he planned to wear on his wedding day, according to local media.
The bride-to-be and his relatives chose to celebrate both his life and their love rather than mourning his death, doing so by wearing bright colors and hearing a live song performed by his fiancée.
His cremation reportedly took place at Wat Lat Bua Khao.
During his send off, a life band played with the hope that his soul would depart peacefully.
Panya was leaving work on a motorcycle when he came into contact with cable car wires that wrapped around him, leading to his death on Hua Sai–Bua Khao Road, Moo 8, in Hua Sai Subdistrict, per the news sites.
The Thai Examiner reported, “a cable had slashed deeply into his neck. It severed a major blood vessel.”
