UPPER SAUCON TWP., Pa. — A quiet stretch of Flint Hill Road has turned into a scene of sorrow and shock after a single‑vehicle crash killed a 21‑year-old passenger and seriously injured two others late Monday night.

The wreck happened around 9:15 p.m. on Nov. 25 in the 1800 block of Flint Hill Road, just east of the intersection with Forest Drive. According to the Upper Saucon Township Police Department, the vehicle lost control, spun sideways, and struck a utility pole with such force that the car was wrapped around the structure.

Eyewitnesses described hearing a loud screech, then a violent crash — a sound that rattled neighbors and drew first responders rushing from nearby homes. Investigators later found tire‑marks stretching roughly 50 to 60 feet before the impact, and noted the car’s tires were “significantly worn,” which likely contributed to the loss of traction.

Three people were inside the vehicle. A 20‑year-old man suffered a head injury, a 22‑year-old woman was also hurt, and a 21‑year-old male — the front seat passenger — became entrapped between the utility pole and the car. Fire crews from both Upper and Lower Saucon responded and extricated him from the wreckage.

The 21‑year-old was transported to St. Luke’s University Hospital in Bethlehem, where he was pronounced dead at 10:56 p.m. Tuesday. The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office identified the victim only as a 21‑year-old man and declined to release his name — a gesture meant to give his family time to grieve privately.

The other two crash survivors were taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest; at last report, their conditions remain unspecified.

As residents reel from the tragedy, local law enforcement continues to investigate. The Police Department and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office are reviewing the crash, exploring how worn tires, loss of traction, and other circumstances led to such a devastating outcome.

In the wake of this loss, the community has begun to rally around the victim’s family. Neighbors are reaching out to offer comfort, and while details about the victim remain private, people who knew him describe him as a young man with a warm spirit — someone whose life was quietly full of promise. Loss feels heavier now that it’s clear he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

This terrible crash serves as a stark reminder: worn tires and slippery roads can turn a routine drive into a nightmare. Local officials are urging drivers in Upper Saucon to be especially vigilant — and to make sure their vehicles are properly maintained. The road that once carried everyday commutes now carries grief — and a renewed caution among residents who knew him.
