Venus Williams Talks Cosmetic Procedures and Aging

Tennis champion Venus Williams recently shared her thoughts on cosmetic procedures during an interview with Marie Claire UK. At 45, she reflected on the choices related to her appearance as she graced the cover for the magazine’s special edition celebrating women in sports.

While Williams expressed satisfaction with her current looks, she mentioned that she might consider cosmetic enhancements if they could boost her self-confidence. “If I felt like I wanted to feel better about myself, and that’s what made me feel better, I would totally do it,” she stated.

Despite this openness, Williams made it clear that she prefers to stay true to her natural appearance. “I would prefer to keep my look,” she added. She is open to supporting those who choose cosmetic interventions for personal reasons, emphasizing that everyone should do what makes them feel good, regardless of public judgment.

Williams also discussed the inevitability of aging in her role as a professional athlete. She acknowledged that while she feels young at heart, her knees—often described humorously as “80 years old”—have presented challenges throughout her career. “They’ve never been on my side,” she admitted.

Recently, the tennis icon made headlines by winning her first match back from injury at the Mubadala Citi DC Open and becoming the oldest woman to win a singles match on tour since Martina Navratilova in 2004. After a 16-month break following surgery, she hinted at the possibility of continuing her tennis career, despite the ups and downs she faces with aging. “I can still play tennis. I’m still the same player,” she affirmed, hinting there may be more to come.

With her passion for the sport intact, Williams remains a role model, showing that with self-acceptance and resilience, there’s much to celebrate at any age.
