The Philadelphia area is rounding out the weekend with a perfect late summer day.

Skies will start sunny, scattered afternoon clouds will develop and highs will run above average in the mid-80s. A stray sprinkle is possible under any clouds.

For those heading to South Philly to watch the Phillies vs. the Kansas City Royals, you’re in for a treat.

With the first pitch set for 1:35 p.m. at Citizens Bank Park, skies will be mostly sunny and pleasant with scattered afternoon clouds. Throughout the game, temperatures will be in the low to mid-80s.

Speaking of Kansas City, that’s where the Philadelphia Eagles are today for the Super Bowl LIX rematch. Here’s a look at the weather our Birds will be dealing with at Arrowhead Stadium.

Extra clouds on Monday; tracking midweek rain

Monday, we begin the last full week of summer with increasing clouds and the highs still running above average in the low 80s.

Skies will be mostly cloudy on Tuesday ahead of a disturbance riding northward along the East Coast. Scattered showers are possible south and east of the city later in the day. High temperatures will dip below average into the upper 70s.

Scattered showers are possible on Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will be rather cool on Wednesday in the low 70s. On Thursday, we climb to near 80.

Next weekend is the last weekend of the summer.

Come Monday, Sept. 22, it’s time for the sweaters, boots and a pumpkin spice latte because fall officially begins at 2:19 p.m.
