Three teenagers are dead and two people are injured after a serious crash in Warrington Township, Pennsylvania, on Friday night, police say.
The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. on Bristol Road, where a sedan and an SUV collided near Barness Park, police said.
Police say the sedan had four teenagers inside and the SUV had one occupant, the driver.
The three people who were killed were all in the sedan. One teenager who was in the sedan is still in extremely critical condition at a hospital in Philadelphia.
The SUV driver was not injured, according to police.
Bristol Road was closed while law enforcement conducted their investigation.
Police say they are working to identify everyone injured in the crash and notify their families.
The crash occurred when the sedan was heading eastbound and the SUV was heading westbound. When the sedan hit a downward crest in the road, the driver lost control, putting the vehicle in the path of the oncoming SUV.
The passengers involved are not being publicly identified until families are notified.
“This is a heartbreaking and tragic situation. Our hearts and prayers are with the families and friends of those involved during this unimaginable time,” Warrington police said.
Police initially described the crash as a head-on collision but later released information indicating it was a side-angle crash.
