On Friday, January 24, 2025, at approximately 8:25 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of E. Vance Street in Laurinburg regarding a shooting incident.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive female lying in the front yard of a residence.
Scotland County EMS pronounced the victim, identified as 17-year-old Jasmine Smith of 330 Roosevelt Street, Laurinburg, NC, deceased at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Laurinburg Police Department Investigative Division at 910-276-3211.
