Giovanni Cesar Obituary, Death – The victim of a deadly shooting that happened early on Saturday morning in the parking lot of a nearby club has been named by Wichita Falls Police Department officials.
According to Sgt. Charlie Eipper, the Public Information Officer for the WFPD, at approximately 1:42 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, police were called to investigate a report of gunshots at the West End Pub and Pool, which is located close to the intersection of Southwest Parkway and Kemp Boulevard.
Sgt. Eipper stated that upon the arrival of law enforcement, they discovered a dead male in the West End parking lot along with indications of gunfire.
Giovanni Cesar, 27, of Wichita Falls was later identified as the victim, according to Sgt. Eipper. Sgt. Eipper stated that when the location was secured, detectives from the WFPD’s Crimes Against Persons Unit arrived.
Authorities added that they later learned of the arrival at United Regional’s emergency room of a 20-year-old male gunshot victim. They claimed that after speaking with the victim, detectives arrived at the hospital.
According to Sgt. Eipper, the victim’s non-life-threatening gunshot wound was later treated at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.
Sgt. Eipper said that the investigators are speaking with several witnesses and looking for any footage of the incident. He stated that although no one has been taken into custody, investigators think the event was singular and poses no threat to the public.
The inquiry is still being conducted.
