Jeffery Stodghill Obituary, Death – Authorities said that following a stabbing near Trenton on Friday, one person is dead. Deputies are looking into a knife-related disturbance that occurred on the 2700 block of Edgefield Highway, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
At roughly 5:42 p.m., EMS arrived on the site. Jeffery M. Stodghill, 36, has been confirmed as the victim.
The corpse of a white male was discovered on Edgefield Highway, according to the Aiken County Coroner’s Office, and they were called to the scene at 6:07 p.m.
The coroner’s office reports that the victim was stabbed after getting into a domestic fight with a family member at their Edgefield Highway home.
The man was declared dead at the spot, according to the coroner’s office.
The investigation is still ongoing and is being conducted by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office and Coroner’s Office.
The stabbing is a part of a violent crime wave that began in April 2022 and has killed over 150 people. All sizes of communities on both sides of the Savannah River have been impacted, but Augusta has been most severely hit.
