Richard Ealwinne Obituary, Death – New information on a deadly collision that transpired after a police pursuit has been made public by the Laurens Police Department.
The crash happened on Sunday morning at 1:25 a.m. on the South Harper Street extension close to Burnt Mill Creek Road, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
According to troopers, a 2020 Chevy Sudan was using the South Harper Street extension to proceed south.
The Laurens Police Department said that the driver seemed to be intoxicated. Officers said that after they started a traffic stop, the driver made an attempt to escape. During the chase, the car’s occupants abandoned a gun and drugs, according to the police.
According to troopers with the SC Highway Patrol, the car off the road, struck a tree, and then overturned many times.
According to troopers, the driver passed away at the site, and the injured passenger was transported by air to a hospital in Greenville.
Richard Ealwinne, a 30-year-old Clinton resident, was confirmed as the victim by the Laurens County Coroner’s Office.
