Timothy Campbell Obituary, Death – Late on Friday night, a rollover collision on Route 25 in Trumbull claimed the life of a Rhode Island teenager.
Around 11 p.m., Connecticut State Police were notified of an accident and dispatched to the area close to Exit 9 on Route 25 South.
Police said that a BMW X5 tried to pass a BMW X1 from behind and side swiped the X1 by moving to the right. The X5 spun out of control after the accident, crashing into multiple trees.
Timothy Campbell, an 18-year-old from Cumberland, Rhode Island, was the deceased victim; he was riding in the rear seat of the X5. He passed away from his wounds, and the three other passengers in the SUV—which had Rhode Island license plates—were taken to a local hospital in less serious condition.
State police report that the BMW X1’s driver and passenger were unharmed.
The road has reopened after being closed for a few hours while detectives worked at the area.
There is a single-car collision on Route 25 south near exit 9 that has resulted in the woods. Unconfirmed radio reports state that one person was ejected and another was stuck inside the automobile. There has been another crash in Beach Memorial Park resulting in injuries.
