The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has identified the lady who was killed in what Cleveland police are investigating as a murder-suicide on Thursday.
Police say that during a verbal dispute with a 22-year-old guy who was later identified as the suspect, 24-year-old Yahriesha Ortiz was shot and killed.
Krystal, a neighbor across the street, described the scene as “just chaos; the guy had no emotion on his face; he executed those people; his intention was execution.” “The girl was hiding behind this maroon car right here and was shot, I think, in the head. The guy was laid out right here {on the sidewalk}.”
Authorities reported that they received a call reporting gunfire in the 2700 block of Natchez Avenue at approximately five o’clock on Thursday.
Three victims with gunshot wounds were discovered by the responding officers. According to the police, the suspect shot Ortiz multiple times during an argument.
Police reported that two further people were hit by gunfire during the incident: a male, age 26, and a female, age 21. The suspect shot himself as the suspect was being chased by the responding officers.
Ortiz was declared deceased after Cleveland EMS arrived on the scene.
“It was just, like, stay inside because we had our baby girl,” Krystal remarked. The woman who died—I think it was her mother—was awful; it was heartbreaking to witness the suffering she was going through.
MetroHealth Hospital was the destination for the other two victims.
While the other victim is in critical condition, the first is stable. After being brought to the hospital, the suspect was subsequently declared deceased.
According to the police, a murder-suicide investigation is presently underway in this occurrence. This information could, however, change as the investigation goes on.
