Mark Sutcliffe Obituary-Death News; Alumnus Of Stouffville District Secondary School, Mark Sutcliffe Passes Away In Shooting In Keswick Park

Mark Sutcliffe, a longtime resident of Whitchurch-Stouffville, Ontario, and alumnus of Stouffville District Secondary School, has sadly passed away. His death was announced through a social media post that read, ‘I can’t believe it. Mark Sutcliffe, thank you for so many wonderful memories.

You will be deeply missed. Rest in Peace.’ Mark was dearly loved by his family and friends, and his unexpected passing has left many heartbroken.

According to York Regional Police, two individuals lost their lives following an early-morning shooting in a quiet Keswick neighborhood. The police reported just before 11 a.m. that they were investigating two homicides at Bayview Park.

Authorities were called to the park around 7:30 a.m. after gunfire was reported. Upon arrival, officers discovered two adults suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victims were pronounced dead at the scene, as confirmed by a police statement. Photos taken on Wednesday morning showed police vehicles and officers stationed at the park’s entrance.

A perimeter was established, spanning from Doverdale Drive to Bayview Avenue, The Queensway, and Fairwood Drive. The Homicide Unit is leading the investigation, which police describe as an isolated incident.

Officials have assured the public there is no immediate threat. Although no suspect information is currently available, the police are actively searching for the person or people involved.
As a precaution, nearby schools were briefly placed under a hold-and-secure order during the investigation, though they were not connected to the incident. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
