Early on Friday morning, September 20, 2024, a deadly collision happened on Highway 94, east of Howell Road.
Miquel A. Smith, 22, of St. Peters, Missouri, was driving a 2009 Honda Accord when it went off the right side of the road, overcorrected, and overturned, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Numerous people were hurt in the collision, and one person died. The following people were involved in the collision:
After suffering fatal injuries, Miranda K. Douglas, 22, of St. Charles, Missouri, was pronounced dead at 2:48 a.m. by staff from the New Melle Fire Protection District. The St. Charles County Medical Examiner took her to the St. Louis County Morgue.
The driver of the car, 22-year-old Miquel A. Smith of St. Peters, Missouri, suffered severe injuries and was taken by the St. Charles County Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital St. Louis. When the collision occurred, he was not buckled up in his seat.
A passenger in the car, Savannah L. Burfield, 21, of O’Fallon, Missouri, was seriously hurt and taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis. She didn’t have her seat belt on.
Another passenger in the car, 22-year-old Gabriel A. Angelo of St. Peters, Missouri, was seriously hurt and taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis. He had not fastened his seat belt.
Moreover in the car was Braden J. Moore, 23, of St. Peters, Missouri, who was critically hurt. When the accident occurred, he was buckled up in his seat belt, and he was sent to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.
After being totaled, the car was towed from the scene.
