The family of a man who had been reported missing have been information after a body was found in the river in Cwmbran. Formal identification is yet to take place but the family of Richard Garner, who was reported as missing, have been informed.
The 64-year-old was last seen at the boating lake on Llanfrecha Way, Cwmbran, at around 4.30pm on Saturday, September 21.
Gwent Police launched an appeal and have confirmed that the body of a man was discovered on Sunday, September 22.
A statement from the force said: “Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.”
A spokesperson added that the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
